Descriptive Snowmen
My class is finishing up their descriptive snowmen. They love these type of writing activities. They always turn out so cute!
I'm hoping to get this finished up and posted in my store this weekend.

Organizing Binders
Did anyone else have a snow day today? I'm working on new labels for my binders and replacing old binders in my classroom. I clearly spend too much money on TPT!
Artifacts
Last week our third graders enjoyed learning about primary and secondary artifacts. The Historical Society sent us some artifacts that the students really enjoyed learning about.

Another Snow Day
Is anyone else having this crazy weather? We've been to school twice in the last 6 days. Our students already have this Friday and next Monday off. Crazy. Hopefully they'll be refreshed and ready to go! I am enjoying my time at home and getting some extra time to work on some products. Here's a little peek at one of my current projects.
I'm trying to get this book finished up, too. I just need a few days to work on it with my class before I finalize this product. We chose graphing as one of our SLOs to assess students on for our evaluation, so we have a lot of work to do to prepare for this test.

And Another Snow Day!
Today was our 3rd snow day this week, so we only spent 2 days at school in the last 3 weeks! Did anyone else have a crazy week like that?
Technically I had the day off today as a personal day. My husband and I attend the Cents in January to look for new products for our garden/bird seed store. Due to an unexpected snow day, our son got to come along. It's not all that exciting for kids, but he enjoyed the dishes of candy and few goodies they handed out.
After the show we enjoyed lunch and a trip to Target. I might share with my son. ;) These will be great motivation for grading a stack of papers this weekend.

Subtraction Freebie
I worked on a little freebie today. Click on the picture below to download at my store. My students always need a little extra practice with regrouping.
Sometimes seeing an entire page of problems is a bit overwhelming for some. Students will get to choose 4 problems to complete and then complete one more that is teacher selected with a star.
My students love to color the tiniest of pictures this year, so they will enjoy this! Sometimes I think they ignore the directions while they think about asking if they may color the pictures when they are finished.

No School
I have to admit it is nice to ease back into school after two weeks off for Christmas. I think it has helped my class, too. This year, a long day just wears them out. And a 5 day week is rough.
I'm enjoying the extra time off to finish up some projects that I started during the summer. This bundle is all about the monster theme with mostly seasonal monsters. Monsters are cute all year long!
How are you spending your day off?

Subtraction with Regrouping and Basic Facts
This year my students need to subtract 4-digit numbers, so we've really been working on it a lot and I know that our second grade teachers are working on 3-digit subtraction. Usually, 3-digit numbers are confusing for some by the end of the third grade, so this has been a challenge, but I expect it will be easier next year.
It appears that we will be filling in gaps from Common Core for a few years.
My students are catching on, however, I still have a handful of students missing problems because of the basic facts. It makes me crazy!
I decided to create some basic math fact practice that only focuses on facts they'll find with regrouping. The product is ready for my class and almost ready for my store.

Go Bucks!
I'm hoping for a snow day on January 13th. It's going to be a late night watching that game!
